State Board CE instructions

- 40 hours of CE every 2 years
- Those licensed for the first time shall not be required to complete continuing education as a prerequisite for the first renewal of their licenses.
- For the second license renewal, licensees shall obtain 6 hours of continuing education pertaining to the practice of psychology in either of the following areas: Iowa mental health laws and regulations, or risk management.
- For all renewal periods following the second license renewal, licensees shall obtain 6 hours of continuing education pertaining to the practice of psychology in any of the following areas: ethical issues, federal mental health laws and regulations, Iowa mental health laws and regulations, or risk management.
- Aspira Continuing Education is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Aspira Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
