State Board CE instructions

- 30 hours of CE every 2 years
- CE credit may be earned for completion of a self-study, computer or Internet-based course that is offered by an approved sponsor. Each self-study course shall include an examination.
- CE must be relevant to the practice of Social Work
- A renewal applicant shall not be required to comply with CE requirements for the first renewal of an Illinois license.
- All CE must be approved by NASW, ASWB, AAMFT or any organization approved by the Division upon recommendation of the Board.
- Continuing education credit hours used to satisfy the CE requirements of another jurisdiction may be applied to fulfill the CE requirements of the State of Illinois.
