Illinois Counselors Continuing Education Requirements

Are Aspira CE Courses Accepted/Approved?

Yes

State Board CE instructions

- 30 hours of CE every 2 years
- 18 hours in clinical supervision training (one time requirement for clinical professional counselors)
- Maximum 15 hours per renewal may be earned fro successful completion of a correspondance course (e.g. by mail, computer, etc.)
- CE must be relevant to the practice of Professional Counseling
- A renewal applicant shall not be required to comply with CE requirements for the first renewal of an Illinois license.
- Courses are accepted from providers approved by the NBCC.
- Aspira Continuing Education has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6416. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Aspira Continuing Education is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
