Burnout, Trauma, or Pandemic Fatigue: Self-Assessment and Care as a Therapist in Private Practice Course Objectives, Description, and Outline

Course Objectives:
  • Identify at least 4 unique ways that burnout and trauma are exhibited by therapists in private practice
  • Describe at least two profiles that are at risk for burnout
  • Verbalize two ways that these profiles can impact clinical care
Course Description:

As a therapist in private practice you have an ethical duty to take care of yourself- so that you can take great care of your clients. Burnout rates are being reported at all-time highs, and the demand for therapy is higher than ever. How do we know how much is too much? What do we do when traditional “self-care” like bubble baths aren’t working. Or, when we feel guilty for taking time off? Come and learn a unique self-assessment tool in private practice.  You will learn what your current “profile” is and how to use that profile to inform what kind of changes or strategies are needed to avoid or recover from burnout.  Then you can continue to provide ethical and impactful services to your clients.
