Aging and Long Term Care CE Course

You will need to purchase 1 unit for every 1 hour of coursework to gain access to the certificate of completion.

You will receive a certificate of completion after passing the exam, completing the course evaluation, and purchasing the appropriate number of units.  The certificate of completion will then be accessible on your myCourses page in the Your Course History section under the tab “Aspira Courses I’ve Passed”.  There will be a “Download” button under the “Certificate” column that you will be able to click on to pull up your certificate once all requirements listed above have been met.

Course Objectives:

  1. Describe at least two important aspects of aging and long-term care.
  2. Explain at least one psychological aspect of aging.
  3. Explain at least one biological aspect of aging.
  4. Explain at least one social aspect of aging.
  5. Describe at least one key factor in the relationship between aging, culture, and stigma.
  6. Discuss at least one key difference between long term and alternative types of care.
  7. Identify at least two elder and dependent abuse warning signs.
  8. Discuss at least two principles and techniques used in counseling the elderly.
  9. Identify at least two relevant issues and clinical implications in coping with aging.
  10. Describe at least two clinical implications and issues surrounding the elderly and substance abuse.
  11. Identify at least two relevant resources.
